Luke 10:25-37
God interrupted my journey as a Multicultural Ministries Pastor in WI a little over a year ago. It was upon my return from San Jose, Costa Rica and my first Work and Witness trip through the Nazarene Church that God began to ask me to "go and do likewise". I had no idea at the time where that "go and do likewise" would lead. Through a series of interruptions in my daily routine God began to open my eyes to issue of child hunger in the area where I live in WI. Again through a series of conversations it became very apparent that God needed me to step out of my normal routine as a Multicultural Ministries Pastor in order address this issue of child hunger. But I still did not have a clear picture of where it would lead for sure or what God's "go and do likewise" really looked like for me. But, without a doubt I knew The LORD was leading me to resign my pastoral position.
Again through a series of conversations the one question that kept coming up was "do you know Spanish/how much Spanish do you know?" So as I continued on the journey God led me to contact the Seminary in San Jose, Costa Rica where there is a Spanish Immersion program. The picture of the "go and do likewise" was becoming clearer.
Fast forward to recent months, I have been commissioned by The Church Of The Nazarene as Mission Corp. Volunteer Missionary and am currently raising support for my 9 month contract. During the 9 months I will not only be studying Spanish in San Jose,Costa Rica but I will be working as an assistant for the program.
In order to live into this "go and do likewise" and all that it requires I have to raise all my financial need during those 9 months. My budget is roughly $14,000, with my first goal being $7,000! To date I still need roughly $4,300 in order to meet the first goal of $7,000. The goal of $7,000 is an important one as it has to be raised before I can purchased my ticket to San Jose, Costa Rica. All that being said I have NO doubt that The LORD will provide!
However, I cannot and do not want to take this journey God is asking me to go on by myself. I am praying that God would provide prayer and financial supporters to make this possible.
